Welcome

Welcome to our donors and to you who want to strengthen southeastern Connecticut.

The Community Foundation of Southeastern Connecticut is a public grantmaking foundation that builds community by encouraging long term giving through endowment funds created by caring donors.  We serve East Lyme, Groton, Ledyard, Lyme, Montville, New London, North Stonington, Old Lyme, Salem, Stonington, and Waterford.

As members of this community, you give in many ways.  Giving feels good but what feels better is knowing that your giving has really made a difference.  The Community Foundation can connect you with nonprofit organizations that do the work you care about so you can see the results of your giving today.  By creating a permanent, endowed fund at the Community Foundation, you can be confident that you have made a difference forever.

We do not ask you to give to our cause, rather, we ask you “what would you like to do for our community and how can we help you do it?”

The Community Foundation:

  • Helps those who want to give well and wisely.
  • Manages over 200 individual funds with combined assets of $25+ million.
  • Awards more than $1M in grants & scholarships in this community annually.
  • Specializes in identifying community needs and effective charitable giving opportunities.
