The Community Foundation is a public charity that builds and manages charitable funds.  Our mission is to transform our region into a more vital, caring community.  We also seek to yield significant impact with our grants on pressing local issues, and to assist our charitable agencies meet their missions with excellence and efficiency.   

Most of our donors currently live in the 11 towns we serve:  East Lyme, Groton, Ledyard, Lyme, Montville, New London, North Stonington, Old Lyme, Salem, Stonington, and Waterford.  Others live out of the region but grew up here, summer here or believe in the importance of what we do to enrich and serve our region.
